La actividad educativa se denomino «Libertad Reproductiva y Sexual», la cual se realizó en Colegio Sagrados Corazones – Padres Franceses de la ciudad de Viña del Mar , la cual estuvo orientada a estudiantes de III año Medio, donde se conversaron las temáticas de Salud Sexual y Reproductiva entre otras. La actividad tuvo una modalidad híbrida, con un grupo de estudiantes de forma presencial y la otra parte vía virtual.

La actividad estuvo marcada por una alta participación de estudiantes (60 en total) y con apoyo de la profesora Patricia Rodríguez, Claudia Vilches y Danilo Zamorano, Coordinador de la Unidad de Vinculación con el Medio y Extensión.

Además se contó con la presencia de la Sra. Ximena Ampuero, Encargada Unidad de Promoción y Relaciones Públicas de nuestra Universidad, quien a su vez gestiono la participación de dos promotores/as, Angel Herrera y Josefa Beltrami, quiene expusieron sobre nuestra Universidad y generaron un stand de consultas con folletería de todas las Carreras.

Con más de 100 participantes entre docentes y estudiantes, se realizó la Jornada de Matronería de este año en honor a la celebración del día de la matrona y del matron, actividad que estuvo marcada por la reflexión, el autocuidado y el fortalecimiento de las relaciones de nuestra Escuela.

Tanto los/las estudiantes como los/las docentes presentaron videos sobre los desafíos, aprendizajes y anécdotas vividas en el proceso de docencia durante la pandemia. Además se contó co la presencia de dos profesionales de salud mental, las psicólogas Karen Cofré y Leslie Carrasco, quienes a través de sus presentaciones hicieron reflexionar sobre todo lo aprendido durante esta crisis sanitaria.

Cada 31 de Agosto se celebra un día más de la matrona y el matrón, este año nuestra profesión cumple 187 años y lo queremos conmemorar recordando cómo nos hemos adaptado a los cambios demográficos, epidemiológicos y socioculturales de nuestro país. Es así como desde el 2020 estamos viviendo una pandemia mundial y la atención en Salud ha cambiado, sin embargo matronas y matrones seguimos realizando nuestras labores, adecuándonos al contexto actual, sin olvidar la mirada humanizada de la atención. Este mes, la Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura de la Universidad de valparaíso ha preparado diversas actividades para celebrar nuestro día, entre ellas la jornada “Matronería en tiempos de COVID: Experiencia desde la Neonatología” con la destacada participación de la Matrona gestora de procesos Neonatales en el Hospital Barros Luco Trudo Luz María Román, quien tiene una vasta experiencia en el área de Neonatología, Lactancia Materna y docencia Universitaria.

Con más de 50 participantes se realizó la Primera Jornada de Investigación en Salud, diversidad sexual y género: una aproximación desde la Matronería, con motivo de la conmemoración del Mes del Orgullo. La actividad organizada por la Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura de la Universidad de Valparaíso y Fundación Iguales se realizó el día miércoles 24 de Junio a través de la plataforma Zoom. Dentro de los/las/les expositores/as destaca la Doctora © Cynthia Vergara de la Universidad Austral, profesor Danilo Zamorano y la estudiante Estefany Vera, quienes presentaron una panorámica sobre la situación actual en salud e investigaciones relacionadas al colectivo LGBTIQ.

Esta semana entrevistamos al Mat. Danilo Zamorano Díaz, Coordinador Vinculación con el Medio y Extensión, Coordinador Diploma de Postítulo en Ecografía Obstétrica. Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura, Universidad de Valparaíso, para conocer acerca de la iniciativa “Consulta Matronas UV”, una fanpage en Facebook que atiende de manera online dudas urgentes que tengan las mujeres embarazadas, sobre anticoncepción y cómo prevenir enfermedades de transmisión sexual.

En dicha página, se encuentran a disposición profesores docentes de la Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura de la Universidad de Valparaíso que brindar apoyo y orientación sobre diversas temáticas de la matronería. Según Danilo, más de mil personas han recurrido al fanpage solicitando consejos y ayuda. Esta iniciativa nace el año 2013, pero la fanpage fue relanzada durante octubre de 2019 para canalizar consultas en medio del estallido social.

Cabe mencionar que «Consulta matrona UV» corresponde a una experiencia de Teleorientación donde un grupo de matronas y matrones entregan información solicitada por una persona que busca resolver dudas e inquietudes en materias de salud, donde finalmente es la persona quien toma decisiones a partir de la orientación que recibe.

El día lunes 17 de Mayo del año 2021, se daba inicio a la semana UV, por lo que la federacion uv nos contactó para ofrecernos un espacio dentro de la semana con el fin de entregar conocimientos a la comunidad relacionados a nuestro comité. Esta semana nosotros ya contábamos con un gran número de actividades programadas, puesto que se daba inicio a la Semana Mundial del Parto Respetado, bajo el lema «El respeto por las necesidades de la madre y su bebé en cualquier situación». Como comité gestionamos diversas actividades a lo largo de la semana que buscaban concientizar, apoyar y educar en la promoción de estas prácticas, para que desde el conocimientos, lxs gestantes y su entorno puedan vivir un proceso en el que se respeten todos sus derechos. Es por esto que al aceptar con gran entusiasmo la propuesta de la Federación dirigimos la charla ,previamente organizada, a todos los estudiantes de la facultad de medicina.

Esta se desarrolló el día Lunes 17 de Mayo a las 16:00 hrs y llevaba como nombre «Atención humanizada del nacimiento, y bases biomecánicas de la movilidad durante el parto». En esta instancia tuvimos como expositoras a la matrona Soledad Bravo y a la kinesiologa Karin Jerez. Esta jornada contó con la participación de más de 100 personas mediante vía zoom y vía streaming por el Facebook de nuestra escuela, siendo visualizada, incluso, por personas de otros países.

Al finalizar la jornada agradecimos a cada uno de los asistentes por el apoyo y confianza depositada en el comité, y los instamos a participar en las demás actividades mediante un post publicado en nuestras redes sociales sobre la charla.

La vida sexual y reproductiva es parte fundamental de la labor de nuestra Escuela, bajo este
contexto, se realizó un taller expositivo en el St Paul’s School. Los temas tratados fueron aspectos
de autocuidado, abuso y vida sexual y afectiva. La actividad se realizó los días 8 y 9 de abril a las
18:00 horas y estuvo a cargo del Comité de Vinculación con el Medio y Extensión de la Escuela de
Obstetricia y Puericultura.

La actividad fue un éxito y en ella participaron más de 60 estudiantes por jornada. Las(los)
estudiantes que pertenecen al Comité de Vinculación con el Medio y Extensión de la Escuela de
Obstetricia y Puericultura, expusieron y entregaron distintos elementos a lo largo del taller. A la
vez, adaptaron la presentación al ciclo vital de los estudiantes del St Paul’s School. En todo
momento, esta actividad fue supervisado por los académicos de la Escuela de Obstetricia y
Puericultura: Prof. Francisca Aguilar y Prof. David San Martín.

La finalidad de este tipo de talleres para el Comité de Vinculación con el Medio y Extensión de la
Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura es entregar a la comunidad distintos elementos que sirvan de
garantía a lo largo de su ciclo vital.

En Chile, las iniciativas sanitarias para atender a personas trans se han ido desarrollando de manera progresiva pero aún muy incipientes a nivel país. Lo cual puede estar dificultado por la dominancia en nuestra sociedad de una visión binaria (hombre/mujer) que ha abonado a la invisibilización de aquellas personas que no coinciden con los patrones convencionales de género, favoreciendo de esta manera conductas sociales negativas como la discriminación y hostilidad, y como consecuencia un deterioro de la salud de la salud física y emocional de las personas a lo largo de todo su ciclo vital.

Es por esto que es fundamental generar instancias de discusión y de generación de iniciativas que vayan en pos de fomentar atenciones en salud vinculadas con el enfoque de derecho. En base a esto es que el día Sábado 15 de Mayo se desarrollo la primera jornada virtual “ACERCAMIENTO A UNA ATENCIÓN INTEGRAL EN SALUD DE PERSONAS TRANS” de la Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura que contó con la exposición de 3 profesionales de la salud que permitieron enriquecer a los mas de 80 participantes de la jornada.

Se dio inicio a la jornada con la ponencia de Patricia Rodríguez González, matrona y académica del Dpto de salud pública y comunitaria de la Esc OyP , candidata a MG en Sexologia y socia activa de CAAOS Centro de Apoyo, Acompañamiento y Orientación Sexual con la temática ”Salud en personas Trans en Chile ¿En qué estamos?
Posterior a esto la Dra. Melissa Cifuentes Arévalo, Médica Uróloga con sub especialidad en Uro ginecología, formación en medicina pélvica femenina y cirugía reconstructiva de personas trans, Médica del policlínico de Identidad de género y Miembro de la Fundación DiverSalud abordo la temática “Avanzando hacia una salud Transafirmativa”.

Y dando fin a la exposiciones, Karin Elizabeth Jerez Hidalgo Kinesióloga titulada U. de Valparaíso Máster en Fisioterapia de Suelo Pélvico, U. Europea de Madrid, España. Máster en Gimnasia Abdominal Hipopresiva, M. Caufriez Diplomada en Reeducación Pelviperineal, U. de Chile, Kinesióloga Policlínico Identidad de Género, Hospital Carlos Van Buren, Miembro Fundación DiverSalud y docente Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura, U. de Valparaíso nos presentó la temática: “Abordaje Kinésico de Piso Pélvico para personas Trans”.

Conmemoración del día mundial del prematuro

En este día se busca concientizar en la prevención del parto prematuro, ayudar a superar con éxito las morbilidades asociadas a niños y niñas que nacen pretérmino, además recordar la importancia de formar redes de apoyo para sus familias.

Prof. Francisca Aguilar en el Mercurio de Valparaíso: Día Internacional contra el Cáncer de Mama: regiones de Magallanes y Valparaíso lideran tasa de mortalidad

En Chile fallecen cada año unas mil mujeres por causa del cáncer de mama. La evolución de esta enfermedad ha sido tal que en nuestro país se registran unos cuarentanuevos casos por cada 100 mil mujeres cada doce meses, lo que en la actualidad lo convierte en la primera causa de muerte por cáncer.

Al respecto, la matrona Francisca Aguilar, académica e investigadora de la Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura de la Universidad de Valparaíso, asegura que esta enfermedadha ido en aumento en los últimos años, al punto que según las estadísticas nacionales que maneja el MINSAL cada tres horas se diagnostica un nuevo caso de cáncer demama en el país.

A nivel de regiones, la tasa de mortalidad asociada a esta patología la encabezan Magallanes y Valparaíso, con 22 y 19 decesos por cada 100 mil mujeres, respectivamente,cifras que superan a la media nacional, que es de 17 por cada 100 mil habitantes, esto se explicaría entre otras cosas por ser una zona que concentra la mayor cantidad deadultos mayores del país.

También podría ser resultado de los hábitos y estilos de vida, pero no existe evidencia significativa que permita concluir eso. En tal sentido, la docente de la Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura de la UV sostiene que estudios realizados en Estados Unidos -aplicables a países con registrosepidemiológicos confiables- demuestran que de cada mil exámenes mamarios que se practican, ochenta requieren de análisis complementarios, diez culminan en la solicitudde biopsias y tres terminan arrojando la presencia de cáncer.

«En Chile no tenemos registros precisos de este tipo, pero es factible proyectar esa pirámide simplificada de exploración. Sin embargo, es probable que la situación sea máscompleja, ya que en nuestro sistema de salud público el personal adiestrado en experiencia mamaria es escaso y también la disponibilidad para realizar radiografías», afirmaFrancisca Aguilar.

Importancia de prevenir

Por lo anterior, la matrona de la UV afirma que la única estrategia que ha sido demostrada como útil en el diagnóstico precoz de este cáncer es la realización anual de lamamografía, a partir de los 40 años. Incluso es recomendable iniciarlas a partir de los 30 años si existen casos familiares.

«Lo ideal es acudir a un centro asistencial en el que exista una unidad de radiología con especialistas dedicados a la patología mamaria, ya que su detección tempranadeterminará una mayor sobrevida con una mejor calidad de vida, tratamientos menos complejos y una disminución de los costos al sistema público de salud. Dependiendo delresultado de la mamografía se resuelve dónde derivar a la paciente: a una unidad de patología mamaria o a un especialista. Se debe saber que ésta es una enfermedad queestá incluida en el GES», precisa Francisca Aguilar.

Además, la académica e investigadora explicó que es necesario que las mujeres tomen conciencia de lo importante que es este tema, para que lo conversen y divulguen entresus amigas y familiares, y consulten en forma periódica a un médico especialista o a la matrona en el consultorio, para que sean examinadas adecuadamente y les prescribanla orden para realizarse una mamografía.

«La propia Organización Mundial de la Salud ha planteado que las líneas estratégicas para el control del cáncer en general, y de este en particular, deben necesariamentevincularse a los esfuerzos dirigidos a la prevención de las enfermedades crónicas, por lo que es importante asumir que esta patología está potencialmente presente en todos ypor eso debemos prevenirla», concluye la matrona.

Factores de riesgo

El cáncer de mama afecta principalmente a mujeres mayores de 40 años, vale decir, plenamente activas en los ámbitos familiar y laboral. Y a nivel general, se estima que unade cada catorce mujeres puede llegar a desarrollar esta enfermedad en alguna etapa de su vida, por lo que la prevención y preocupación son fundamentales para detectarlo enforma oportuna.

Entre los factores de riesgo principales figura la herencia genética, que está presente en un 5% a 10 % de todos los cánceres de mama. También haber tenido lesiones precursoras previas, la exposición a radiaciones, la obesidad, el consumir una dieta rica en grasas saturadas, la escasa o nula actividad física y el hábito tabáquico.

Esta enfermedad puede incluso afectar a los hombres, si bien su incidencia es baja: 0,1 por cada 100 mil. Entre los factores de riesgo asociados al cáncer de mama figuran la herencia familiar, la mutación genética (presente en el 15% de los casos), el estilo de vida poco saludable (sedentarismo, tabaquismo y alcoholismo), el modo de vivir la maternidad y la edad, ya que sobre los 45 años el riesgo de mortalidad se eleva significativamente.

Con el propósito de concientizar a las personas y a las mujeres especialmente, la OMS declaró el 19 de octubre como el día internacional de la lucha contra el cáncer de mama.
