Capacitación de Octubre en la toma de test rápido de VIH
Con éxito se realizó nuevamente capacitación en la toma de test rápido de VIH donde participaron 46 personas, entre estudiantes y docentes de la Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura.
En esta oportunidad se gestionó esta capacitación con la SEREMI de salud de la V Región y con apoyo de INJUV, la que permitió concretar la actividad el día martes 2 de noviembre en dos jornadas, en la mañana y en la tarde.
La Directora Regional de INJUV, Sra. Paulina Valdivia Altamirano, dió la inauguración a esta actividad, destacando la importancia de la participación de jóvenes en este tipo de iniciativas.
Esto permitirá que tanto docentes como estudiantes puedan participar en operativos de toma de test rápido de vih en espacios al aire libre como a nivel asistencial

Escuela OyP UV en jornada de concientización y educación sobre la prevención del Cáncer de Mamas
Con una alta participación de la comunidad se realizó una nueva Jornada de concientización y educación sobre la prevención del Cáncer de Mamas, actividad organizada por Tuiteros Solidarios, quienes invitaron a la Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura para apoyar en la realización de educación a través del stand preparado para esto, como también en la realización de Exámenes Fìsicos de Mamas.
Gran cantidad de usuarias pudieron acceder al examen físico de mamas realizado por la prof. Patricia Rodríguez y estudiantes de los distintos niveles.
Además se contó con la presencia de Cecila Bolocco, quien es Presidenta de CARE, organización que ayuda a personas que deben enfrentar el cáncer.

Conmemoración del día Mundial contra el Cáncer de Mama junto a la comunidad
Con más de 100 asistentes se realizó el día de hoy actividad en “Conmemoración del Día Mundial del Cáncer de Mama” en frontis acceso a mall Marina Arauco. El objetivo de la actividad fue sensibilizar sobre esta enfermedad para crear conciencia sobre la prevención y detección precoz para lo cual se realizó entrega de folletería y educación a la comunidad. A la actividad asistió la Profesora Patricia Rodríguez junto a 4 estudiantes del comité de Vinculación con el Medio y Extensión.
En la actividad estuvo presente el Seremi de Salud de la V Región, Dr. Geoge Hubner, quién destacó la importancia de la educación relacionada a la prevención precoz de esta patología.

Reflexión sobre el día mundial contra el Cáncer de Mama
Una de las patologías que causa mayor tasa de mortalidad por cáncer en la mujer es el cáncer de mama, tanto a nivel mundial como nacional. Según datos de GLOBOCAN en Chile el 2020 se diagnosticaron 5.331 nuevos casos de cáncer de mama con tasas de incidencia y mortalidad de 37,4% y 10.2 % respectivamente Es por este motivo, que en la conmemoración del día internacional del cáncer de mama, hacemos un llamado como escuela de oyp a sensibilizarnos con nuestro autocuidado y a consultar de manera precoz y preventiva con profesionales capacitados en esta temática. La pandemia ha generado un impacto en todos los ámbitos de la vida, generando además una disminución significativa en la realización de exámenes de mamografía según un estudio realizado por la Escuela de salud pública de la U Chile, donde concluyeron que entre marzo y agosto del año 2020 dejaron de realizarse 127.800 mamografías, constituyendo el 60,5% menos de exámenes en comparación al año 2019. Esta situación, por lo tanto, repercute de manera negativa en el diagnóstico precoz de la enfermedad, encontrándo lesiones tumorales de mayor tamaño al momento del diagnóstico.
Otros factores de riesgo asociados al cáncer de mama como la obesidad, sedentarismo, tabaquismo y consumo de alcohol, también se vieron afectados con la pandemia, observándose un aumento de 4 a 9 horas diarias de sedentarismo, asociado también a la disminución de la ingesta de agua. En la misma línea, los trastornos de ansiedad e incertidumbre provocados por la pandemia y confinamientos han favorecido el consumo de alcohol y hábito tabáquico.
Podemos hacer un cambio, consulta de manera precoz, realiza autoexamen de mamas el cual te permitirá conocerte mejor e identificar cualquier anomalía, solicita tu examen de mamografía a partir de los 40 años si no tienes factores de riesgo para esta patología, genera cambios en tu vida que disminuyan los riesgos y comparte con tu entorno información veraz. Juntos/as sumamos más en la prevención y concientización . El cáncer de mama afecta a toda la familia.

Comunicado de prensa Comité de vinculación y campos clínicos
En el contexto actual de pandemia en nuestro país, las carreras de la salud no han dejado de trabajar de manera conjunta en la vinculación con los campos clínicos, es por esta razón, que la Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura de la Universidad de Valparaíso para mantener y fortalecer la unión entre campos clínicos y la escuela, se ha creado por resolución Exenta N° 83457, el Comité de vinculación con el medio y campo clínico.
El Comité se encuentra integrado por los docentes de las distintas sedes: Reñaca; Paula Eherenfeld, Soledad Herrera, David San Martín y San Felipe: Leslie Olivares, Juan Pablo Rojas. Además, está conformado por representantes de empleadores, titulados y de la unidad de capacitación y campos clínicos externos:

Su objetivo es crear un espacio permanente que permita fortalecer la relación con distintos actores del medio social, especialmente con aquellos que se vinculan con el quehacer académico y estudiantil de la Escuela Obstetricia y Puericultura de la Universidad de Valparaíso.
Dicho comité tiene por funciones, las siguientes:
- Mantener un vínculo de comunicación con aquellos actores que se relacionan con el quehacer académico y estudiantil.
- Generar espacios de diálogo entre la comunidad de la Escuela de Obstetricia y Puericultura y los actores externos.
- Establecer propuestas de mejoras entre los representantes sociales pertenecientes al comité.
- Visibilizar el proyecto formativo de la Escuela Obstetricia y Puericultura de la Universidad de Valparaíso.
- Coordinarse con la Unidad de Campos Clínicos de la Vicerrectoría Académica y con el Representante de la Facultad de Medicina en el Consejo de Vínculos con el Medio de la Universidad de Valparaíso.
Los integrantes de la escuela realizarán reuniones sistemáticas 1 veces por semestre y de forma anual con los integrantes externos. Esperamos que esta nueva instancia sea provechosa para el futuro de nuestra Escuela y genere una comunicación directa entre estos estamentos.

El miércoles 01 de septiembre se realizó el conversatorio con estudiantes de sexto básico del Seminario San Rafael de Valparaíso cuyo objetivo fue Entregar conocimientos y experiencias a los/las/es estudiantes relacionados a los cambios asociados durante la adolescencia. La actividad estuvo a cargo del prof. Danilo Zamorano y con participación de las estudiantes María José Zuñiga y Daniela Becerra. Asistieron aproximadamente 44 estudiantes los/las/les estuvieron muy atentos/as a la exposición y posterior aclaración de dudas. Agradecemos a la profesora Marianela Perez, quien fue la gestora de esta actividad.

La actividad educativa se denomino «Libertad Reproductiva y Sexual», la cual se realizó en Colegio Sagrados Corazones – Padres Franceses de la ciudad de Viña del Mar , la cual estuvo orientada a estudiantes de III año Medio, donde se conversaron las temáticas de Salud Sexual y Reproductiva entre otras. La actividad tuvo una modalidad híbrida, con un grupo de estudiantes de forma presencial y la otra parte vía virtual.
La actividad estuvo marcada por una alta participación de estudiantes (60 en total) y con apoyo de la profesora Patricia Rodríguez, Claudia Vilches y Danilo Zamorano, Coordinador de la Unidad de Vinculación con el Medio y Extensión.
Además se contó con la presencia de la Sra. Ximena Ampuero, Encargada Unidad de Promoción y Relaciones Públicas de nuestra Universidad, quien a su vez gestiono la participación de dos promotores/as, Angel Herrera y Josefa Beltrami, quiene expusieron sobre nuestra Universidad y generaron un stand de consultas con folletería de todas las Carreras.

Con más de 100 participantes entre docentes y estudiantes, se realizó la Jornada de Matronería de este año en honor a la celebración del día de la matrona y del matron, actividad que estuvo marcada por la reflexión, el autocuidado y el fortalecimiento de las relaciones de nuestra Escuela.
Tanto los/las estudiantes como los/las docentes presentaron videos sobre los desafíos, aprendizajes y anécdotas vividas en el proceso de docencia durante la pandemia. Además se contó co la presencia de dos profesionales de salud mental, las psicólogas Karen Cofré y Leslie Carrasco, quienes a través de sus presentaciones hicieron reflexionar sobre todo lo aprendido durante esta crisis sanitaria.
